Mosin-Nagant Side Scope Mount?

I thought I read a post somewhere in the forum about a third party side mount scope for the Mosin Nagant 91/30. Of course, I saw it before I was going to bed and can't find it anywhere now. But it has been plaguing me. Does anyone remember seeing it and IF such a scope mount exists?

Also, I was interested in hearing some thoughts from some "Old Hands". With the low cost of the Mosin-Nagant rifles right now, I picked up a few. One of the 91/30s (barrel dated 1939) shoots like a charm and seems to absorb the normal mule-kick recoil nicely. I have been thinking about converting it into a scoped rifle using either an original PU side scope mount or the third party version I mentioned above. So my question is, what - if any - are some of your thoughts on the ethics of "chopping" one of these rifles? I have some guilt pangs given the history of some of these. Thoughts?

Thanks.
