Will the 11/48 barrel fit the sportsman 48? Please email if you can help to fred@hunters-den.com. I've been told yes and no on this fit and hope you experts can help.

I've been told that a 12 gauge barrel off a 11-48 also fits the Sportsman 48 shotgun. Is this true? Thanks in advance. Fred

I don't believe they are interchangeable.

    Edit: I stand corrected.

Thanks RIMFIRE22 and if I had to guess I would have said the same thing. Really appreciate your input.

The Remington Models 11-48, Sportsman 48 and Mohawk 48
    barrels *do* interchange.

Airborne has got it right, at least for the Sportsman 48 and the 11-48. The barrel for these two models have the same Remington part number.

I have 2 11-48s and a Mohawk 48. The barrels will interchange because they are the same.
The 11-48 was the first of the 48s and was a 5 shot.
The "Sportsman" 48 had a 2 round mag tube making it a 3 shot.
The "Mohawk" 48 was made in the early 70s and he final run of the 48s, it was a 5 shot.
