I just saw it mentioned in an auction and was wondering, what is it?

AS I recall (and my memory is a little faded), I needed a Form 6 to bring a firearm into the US from overseas (Navy assignment). It listed the firearm details (make, caliber, serial number). I needed it for the guns I had originally taken out of the country as well as those I had acquired (military rod & gun club).

I'm sure the BATF site will give a better, more up-to-date explanation.

The Form 6 is for a civilian importing non-military firearms into the U.S. from a foreign distributor or manufacturer. An FFL dealer is required for this. However, class III or banned firearms cannot be imported, regardless. (Galil, AR-70, etc.)

Save the seals-club a liberal instead.
