Taurus 44 Magnum malfunction

I bought this Taurus 44 Magnum last week. it was used, but I can't believe very much. Anyway, when I try to open the cylinder to eject the spent casings, the cylinder won't open. I push the lever as far as it will go, but apparently it isn't far enough. I'm not really very smart when it comes to handguns, so wondering if somebody can tell me what the problem is, and how to fix it, or is it a problem for a gunsmith to fix? Thank You

What model is this? Some more than one cylinder lock on them. The raging bull series has a latch on the crane and on the frame in the traditional location.

It sounds like the ejector rod has come loose. If you can hold it and turn the the cylinder to the left, it should have left hand threads, it should tighten up. If you can get it open, take the cylinder out, and hold the rod in a padded vice and tighten it.

Wehrmact-45, I know it is not a Raging Bull or a Tracker. All it says on the gun is 44 Magnum on the side of the barrel. I can't get the cylinder to open at all. It did the first 2 or 3 rounds of 5 shots, and on the 3rd round, it won't open to get them out. Other than this, I'm not sure what other information to tell you. Thanks for the help.

Try my suggestion, it happens to S&W'S sometimes. When the rod backs out, it won't let the cylinder unlock at the front. Some times you can slide a feeler guage in between the rod and plunger to hold it down enough to get it open.
