L. C. Smith shotgun

Saturday, at my local show, I had a gentleman wanting to trade his L. C. Smith shotgun for a piece I had on the table. My items price was $950. He wanted to trade straight across for his shotgun, which he said was worth $2000. I know NOTHING about shotguns and told him I didn't want to swap because I knew nothing about it. What I know is that it is a grade A1, SxS, Damascus barrels, ivory beads, scrolled with hunting dogs on it, 12 guage, and auto ejectors. He claims 40% condition. What does he have and what is it worth? If it is what he says, there were only 740 made, according to the Blue book. Please help! Or point me in the right direction. Thanks![?]

40% on a damascus tubed A1 Elcee. I don't think his value was too awfully close. I'll go with Bert. Likely a fairly even swap if you like antique doubles.
Nord--- you turncoat!
