How would a .25acp. round perform in a rifle barrel?
It is a low power round but is adjustable compared to rimfire.

If I was looking for a low power, accurate and economical centerfire rifle cartridge I would think that .32 S&W Long or .32 HR mag or .327 Mag would be the way to go.

25acp is not even as strong as a 22lr. In ww1 it was known that the little round would bounce off of a skull.

Plus its expensive. Better off with a multitude of other cartridges. The 9mm and 38 special would be the cheapest bang for the buck.

.22 lr, .22mag, .17hrm, are all better and cheaper to shoot and available in rifles for what you want to do.
