Geco was a Trade name used by a large German Sporting Goods Dealer/Distributor. If this shotgun was made or sold in Germany after 1891 it will have German Proof Marks on the barrels and on the receiver under the barrels.

From your description with the external hammers and sling swivels, it's a older utility grade gun, made before the First World War. Prior to shooting take it to a competent gunsmith for inspection and testfiring. Some of these old timers had shorter chambers then modern made guns. This could result in potential problems, when firing modern ammo.

    Hello "ddunning"[:)]

German made shotgun - utility grade - has European chambers which are shorter than American 16 guage. It is easy enought for any competent gunsmith to "fresh-out" the barrel for 2-3/4 shotshells. Have her checked out and chambered for modern shotshells and shoot the heck out of it.

    Best Regards[:)]
