Help Identifying Pistol (WWII? German?)

While going through my wifes grandfathers belongings, we found a pistol that her mom believes he brought back from WWII. It is in a leather holster and has the following writing on it.
FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE
HERSTAL BELIGIQUE

BROWNINGS PATENT DEPOSE

It has stamps on it that look like a bird with its wings spread and its head facing the left.
On the flipside, it has three serial numbers that all match. (One on slide, one on frame, and one on the shell ejector piece.) 67012a

Do you guys have any idea what this is or what its value may be?
Thanks in advance.

Here are some pictures.

It's a 9mm Belgian Browning HiPower P35 made under German occupation during WW2. Value about $500.
I don't know about the holster. It was modified by having the trigger area cut out. It looks like a Russian Tokarev holster.

You have a Model 1935 Browning High Power nice pistol with German proof marks from when Germany took over the factory and had slave labor building gun These pistols bring a fair amount of money I sold one in about 95% condition for $1800.00 about 3 months ago.

EDIT the holster is not correct one but modified what looks like a P38 holster it does not have much value and should not be sold with pistol . However if the grandfather had any papers CAPTURED guns some times had a receipt from commanding officer to allow G.I. to bring back home these papers CAN add value. I would say your pistol if it has a good bore is $800.00 + depending on who wants it . It is a Shame to not keep this part of history in the family but YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Is GunBroker the best place to sell something like this or would I be better off taking it somewhere local (Atlanta, GA)

    Thanks

List it here on the auction side will get you the best price for it. If you sell it at a local shop you will only get around 60%of its value. The shop needs to make a profit. After listing it post a plug with a link to the auction on the General Discussion forum.

Mr Brown - Welcome to the forum - I can add little to what has been said - Yours iappears to be a very nice pistol - I have a similar pistol but mine has an adjustable rear ramp sight - I am curious as to whether your grip is slotted to accept the shoulder stock - that would add value to your pistol.

I agree selling on GB will get more money for you than selling at a local gunshop. The gunshop will give you about 60% of what you would get on GB. Just for grins take the gun to the gunshop and see what they offer you. Added 40% and see if it would not sell on GB for that price.

I am getting ready to list this gun on GunBroker becuase I have not had a chance to get to any gun shows. What would be the best title to use for this gun auction. I want to accurately describe it and be able to generate the most hits. Any help is appreciated.

Be sure you understand the laws regarding interstate shipments of hand guns before posting your auction. Label it "Model 1935 Browning High Power with German proof marks"

To get more people to key on your weapon you might title it:

German Nazi Browning High Power Pistol WWII

This will list all the key word combinations collectors enter to find weapons like yours.

Of course you can sell it as it is your property--but unless you are really hurting for money or the family hated the grandfather --I personally would not sell a great family heirloom like that--you may regret it later[;)]
