South American 7.62 ammo

Years ago (maybe 1992-1994) I bought a bunch of 7.62Nato from Venezuela, I think. Five green boxes of 20 in plastic packs. Just about running out. Anybody ever run accross this and reload it. Performed very well when I shot it. Also seems to be nice brass as well. Use to see at guns shows back then, got married had some kids and just started going back to gun shows with my oldest, don't see anymore. But then again Venezuela not very friendly anymore.

All of us FAL shooters have bought it all and shot it all.... dirty stuff, hard to get the gas plug out after 3 or 4 hundred rounds...

Lately the "best" prices I've seen have been new production Privi from Wideners, about $105 delivered for 200 rounds... You may also want to check georgia-arms.com and their prices, I've heard lots of good about their ammo...

sounds like CAVIM. headstamp should be the same

Went and grabbed a box, yes it is CAVIM 06 headstamped. Dated 18 ENE 1991 Lote N* ANFAH 01. Still have 400 rounds left. About the same empty cases with a few missing I'm sure. Only fired through a M1A so far.

I'm thinking some of that Cavim brass is reloadable.
