Recently acquired a replacement barrel for my remington 700 and just have a quick question as to the manufacturer if anyone should happen to know. It is a 24" matte stainless sporting contour barrel chambered for 7mm wby mag. Only markings on barrel are obviously the chambering and CCG. If anyone knows who made this barrel I'd appreciate any info. Thank you in advance.

Can somebody tell me if a barrel removed from a Remington 700 will fit a Remington 7? One more question. Could somebody tell me if it's possible to rebore a rifle barrel to a larger caliber, and a ballpark guess as to what it would cost, assuming it is possible? Thank You

The cost of re-boring a factory tube would be a waste of money. Simply buy a contoured barrel blank and have your gunsmith install it.

"Can somebody tell me if a barrel removed from a Remington 700 will fit a Remington 7? "... YES IT WILL FIT BUT IT MAY NOT 'INDEX' OR HEADSPACE (BOTH CAN BE 'ADJUSTED'.
"Could somebody tell me if it's possible to rebore a rifle barrel to a larger caliber, and a ballpark guess as to what it would cost, assuming it is possible?"... YES, IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE A BARREL REBORED. I'M TOLD COST IS LESS THAN A REBARREL.

The cost of a rebore is less than a new barrel would be and it has it's advantages sometimes.
The cost finished should be in the $280.00 range..... and they are usually better than what was started with as far as accuracy is concerned.....
