Best custom rifle builder?

Want to have a custom, long range rifle built. Just can't decide who. Any one have any opinions, favorites? I live in Oregon, would like to spend my money there, but been outta the game for a few years (thanx to the military), so I don't know where to go. Aquila is a name I keep hearing, along with somebody in Illinois. This'll be a bolt repeater, most likely Rem. 700 action, since that seems the way to go. Arrgh!!! Help, please!

    Forgot to mention, I don't have unlimited funds, but I expect to drop around $3k w/o scope.

    I would look at www.tacticalrifles.com, or Christenson Arms. Those are about the best, depending on what you wish to do with this.

    you can try Darrel Holland. He's in Oregon.You could goole him. He does 700 Remington long range for competion.

    There are hundreds to top notch gunsmiths. A lot of the big name guys got their credit from being in benchrest and at the matches. I have had guns built by folks who don't have the big names,..but shot as well as any big name rifle at the match. Talk to some folks at a match and you'll find a multitude of suggestions.

    Wow! Thanks all for the info. Guess it's time to narrow down that field. Darrel Holland is a name I've heard before, will definately look him up. Just now checked out Baer and Bryant Custom and was very impressed by what they say, what I see so far. Have finally decided on caliber, 7.82 Warbird, so that will probably narrow the field considerably.
