The serial # indicates an early 1910 Manufacture. The lack of "U.S. Army Model 1909" on the butt indicates that your revolver is a "New Service Model" which, in addition to various "US" calibers, was also made in .450 Eley, .455 Eley, and .476 Eley.

With its adjustable rear sight(drift) is it an officers model or shooting master? I found pics of 1909s and they show serial numbers on frame under the crane also all later pics Ive seen show numbers in the same place. Why would mine only have numbers on the butt and nowhere else?

The answers that you seek are dribbling in at a snails pace with the Q&A. If you want to avoid that, post a few quality pictures, and you'll get all the answers at once.
With pictures, you'll also receive more historical information than you asked for, but is nice to get. Best, Joe
