I have a Ruger rifle in 308 caliber, appears to be the ultra light version? Black tip on stock with RED butt pad..There are a few minor dings in the stock and bluing is very good, no wear...Also on this gun is Redfield 4-12 Rangefinding scope, inside the scope it has 3 sets of crosshirs and a rangefinder that goes from 200 - 600 yards...I do not know much about this scope, so any help on possible value would be greatly appreciated..Gun appears to be in 90% range..I will try to post a pic

Greg, These rifles are not made any more and are favored by many for their quick handling and accuracy. If you are going to list it here, use a basic auction with no reserve and start it at 450.00. I would bet it goes for a bit more than that.Take a look at the ones for sale here and at other sites and price accoringly. I have one just like it and I paid 500.00 for it three yrs ago with no scope. trapper

IF it is the Redfield Accu-track, about $175 for 100% with box.

Way low ? The blue book on that gun which was discontinued in 1992 at 90% is $270 bucks. It has what looks like a varnished or laquered stock and a scope worth $100 bucks used. The caliber isnt collectable . $400 sell price is definitely fair.

    greg,

The rifle is most likely an RLS Rifle/Lightweight/Sights and wore an 18.5 inch barrel. They came in 243,308,270 and 30-06. I have a 30-06 it kicks like a nasty mule...but is accurate enough that it doesn't need shot much!

It was Ruger's early 1990's delve into the ultralight market.

In excellent or NIB/LNIB they bring $750-$850.
Without sights and hunting use they bring $450-$550.
The walnut finish on the RLS was more a matte finish which leads me to believe yours had a coat of something put on it since it is so shiney.

The stock HAS NOT been re-done or varnished in any way, I merely wiped it down for the picture and the flash made it look that way, completley accidental..It is not supposed to be that shiny..It also does not have open sights on the barrel, it in fact has no sights and appears to be a 18-20 inch barrel, I have not measured it but I will..I apologize for the picture, I will try to get a better one..

    greg,

For future reference, If you go to the "smart search" box and type in a model name or number and then scroll down to the "Show Only" box and select Completed Items it will return previous sales - which is very helpful in finding an items selling price.
I am thinking yours is the standard lightweight...which will bring about $100-$150 less of comparable condition.

Here's one of a 270 RLS that sold last month:
