Hello, Can anyone suggest a good reference book on the history of the Winchester Model 12. I would like to have information on the early manufacturing etc., to date. Thanks, Doc

The one I go to most often is by David Riffle titled "The Greatest Hammerless Repeating Shotgun Ever Built: The Model 12 - 1912-1964". Yep, that's a long title, but a good reference! [:D]

I too am more inclined to recommend Riffle's reference book. Dave Riffle is an avid collector of the Model 1912/12, whereas George Madis was not.

Thank you guys for all the info. I'll buy them both. I just picked up 2 very old model 12's, and need to find out all I can about these beautiful long guns.
