You should be happy with either of those scopes. In field use I can't tell any difference between the Zeiss (Conquest) and the Leupolds but most of my scopes are Leupolds. I'm not sure the 50mm, in either, is worth the extra money though compared to the 40mm. I've used both and really don't see any obvious difference between the 40 and 50mm objective and the 50 is more restrictive on what you can do with mounts.

I only own one Zeiss scope that came on a varmint rig bought here on gun broker, clear nice scope, I must have 20 Leupolds with a vxll 2x7 that was on a true working gun being 30+ years old. Zeiss has 3.5" eye relief while the Leupold has 3.5"-4.5" eye relief. I like the Leupold because the eye relief is very forgiving for my eyesight.

You would probably throw both of them out as choices if you looked thru a Burris Signature series. It blows both of them away in clarity, and warranty.

I have a few of each. I would rate the Zeiss as slightly better glass. The eye relief is similar. Thay both give you about an inch with plenty of forehead clearance. The average shooter/hunter would never realize the difference unless you hunt in extreme low light conditions often in which case you might enjoy the Zeiss a little more.

As far as warranty, NOBODY beats Leupold.

Ditto on Burris Signature series. I have replaced just about every leupold with Burris. They also have a no BS FOREVER warranty. I bought a signature 8-32x44 with a broken reticle,..(great price because of that[;)]) sent it back to Burris,..had it back in two weeks with new Balistic Mil dot reticle, new turret caps, new lense covers, and recharged with gas. To me,...Burris Signature has a more forgiving ocular lens shape which allows me to feel more comfortable with my cheek weld.

I disagree with NOBODY, and will continue that Burris has the best no hassle warranty. The Ziess conquest is not of the same quality of the older Ziess series scopes that were not assembled here in the states. They were designed for Americans who have lax quality standards, and would rather cheap out on scopes for the most part. In short, they were designed to compete with Weaver, Simmons, and Tasco.

Of those two, Burris Signature Select would also be my choice.
