Good brand of ultrasonic gun cleaner??

Hello from the sunny south [8D],

Hey ya'll, does anyone have a brand name to suggest on an ultrasonic gun cleaner? We are a hardware store/gunshop and want to open up our services a bit. The idea is to have multiple guns a week run through this cleaner...a few extra bucks...so we would need a bigger than home unit!

Suggestions?

Thanks ahead of time!

    I don't know of any ultrasonic larger than 12 x 6 x 6 inches.
Good for parts but that is all.

I'm from the very sunny, very south too....where we prefer to clean our own guns [:D] . Where a good gunsmith has much more work than he, and his apprentice, can do.

If you are not a gunsmith, or don't have one in your shop, finding and keeping one would be the best "expanded service" move you can make. Mine does (has is apprentice do) lagniappe cleanings periodically....he knows you will be back.

I work at a university run lab, we have very large ultrasonic cleaners. I will look at the paperwork tomorrow.
We clean very large laser optics and mounts, 60"x48" capacity.
Larger systems do exist, we get precleaned parts 10ft long.

Brownells sells two different brands. I have a couple of L&R brand cleaners from them that work great.

I was shopping for one, a while back. You will find a bunch on fleabay, various sizes and features, i.e. integral solution heaters etc. I wouldn't be buying a used one though without, a 100% guarantee on function and safety.

Keep in mind that any metal object submerged in a liquid and exposed to an ultrasonic environment for too long a time, or too often, will develop pitting.

Know for a fact do not put a M-16 in one. Unless you are going to cold weather training as they come out almost white.
