One of my local stores just got a few of the full size, all black SR9s in.
I like the looks and feel a little more than the compact version.
The 410.00 price and 30.00 for any additional 17rd factory mags. seems fair.
I would appreciate any comments on the performance of the SR9 pistol.
Thank You.

Can someone tell me if these pistols have a magazine disconnect?
    Thank you.

    My first post...be gentle!

I'm in the market for another 9mm handgun. I have an S&W 3913, which I like, except for the limited 8 round magazine. It has been 100% reliable for the 10 years I've owned it.

Been thinkin' about the the Ruger SR9, I've read some good things about it, and like the high cap magazine.

I notice that there are lots of these for sale at Gunbroker, and not a single one has a bid! This raises a red flag.

So...asking the experts....what is the reputation of the SR9 "on the street."

Thanks in advance for any and all comments.

    Doug

I bought a new SR9 and have to say its the worst Ruger I have ever owned. It will not eject well and sometimes not at all, the trigger pull is jerky and very hard. I am really unhappy with this weapon and now wish maybe I had gotten a XDM instead. Can you help me with these problems or point me in the right direction. The trigger pull exceeds 8 pounds.

Ruger's entry is about a decade to 15 years too late, and the product is nothing spectacular to set it apart from the competition. Honestly, I don't see it competing well against the Glocks, S&W M&P, and XD very well.

I held one, not really impressed. In a crowded polymer market, It doesn't stand out. I recommend the above guns, the FNP series, Beretta Px4, or Walther P99 as a better substitute for a poly gun. Try them out or hold them to see which feels the best, and buy that.

I just returned from the Ruger Shareholders meeting. Ruger can not make these or the LCP fast enough. They have way more orders than they can meet. Some dealers are looking to make some extra because of the limited availability . Priced with a reasonable markup dealers will take all they can get

The SR9 has a safety recall out on it at the moment-you can go to www.ruger.com to read about it. I liked the way it felt compared to my P95 but I doubt I'll order one anytime soon as I don't need a full size auto--now if they make a compact version I might be for that.

I agree, the market is crowded. I have heard good things about the SR9, but I suspect its just because it is new. I have heard a lot about the SIG p250 modular gun and that they cant keep those on the shelves either, but I sure thats also because they are something new to buy.

I received this e-mail from Ruger:

RUGERr SR9T PRODUCT SAFETY WARNING AND RECALL NOTICE
DO NOT USE YOUR RUGER SR9 PISTOL

We have determined that some Ruger SR9 pistols manufactured between October 2007 and April 2008 can, under certain conditions, fire if dropped with their manual safeties in the "off" or "fire" position. The pistols will not fire if the manual safety is in the "on" or "safe" position.

We will retrofit all Ruger SR9 pistols starting with serial number prefix "330" (330-xxxxx) with these new parts at no charge to our customers. When we return your SR9, we also will send you a FREE extra magazine as a "thank you" for your patience and cooperation.
