I know this original post is several years old, but my question pertains because the ammo that was found with the US&S M1911A1 in my position is marked Federal Ammo 45 Auto. How do I know whether or not it was recalled if there is no box? Thank you.

My friend was shooting 45 acp in his sig. He had federal ammo and one with no powder or very little because the bullet got stuck in the barrel and he sent another one. All it did was buldge the barrel. He called federal and they said tuff. Blamed it on sig somehow.

M1911's don't take cartridges listed in the recall. Your firearm is chambered for .45 ACP..completely different. (ref recall notice for .45 Long Colt. Best, Joe
