Im looking at a 08 Luger DWM.
Seller says DOM is 1913.
It lacks the grooves on the backstrap for mounting a shoulder stock. All the other Lugers Ive seen have the cutout grooves.
Can someone tell me what they know about Lugers which lack the grooves?
Thank You.

I am a long way from a Luger expert (and apparently after last night, also the M1 Rifle) but I seem to recall that very few 1913 DWMs had stock lugs and that there is a nice premium for 1913s with lugs. Can any of our Luger guys confirm that?

The early production German army Lugers made between 1908 & 1913. Didn't have integral stock lugs, ( except those made for the German Navy ), because this feature hadn't been approved. It was only after this approval of the holster stock to be used with the 8" barreled Luger. Were the receivers with integral stock lugs manufactured. All the Luger receivers made by DWM & Erfurt after this date were made with the integral stock lugs. Even though most had the 4" barrel and were never intended to be used with the holster stock.
