Folks, what would a mint Stevens .22 be valued at with a serial number of 106 in today's market? Friend has an opportunity to purchase it and doesn't want to overspend. Thanks.

Quality photos would be best for accurate identification and valuation.

I don't know specifically about the way Stevens serialized their guns? But some manufacturers back in the old days, batched numbered their guns for assembly purposes. The number on the Stevens, might not be a sequential serial number?

EDIT #1,
Flayderman's Guide has the "Marksman" identified as Stevens rifle #12. A inexpensive "Boys Rifle", dating to the early 20th Century. Value would depend on condition. Likely being used by kids and being a hundred years old, most are in pretty thrashed condition. If it's factory original and in Very Good condition. Might be worth that kind of money.

No model number available. It is stamped Stevens "Marksman", Mass. USA on the receiver, is a lever action with serial number of 106. Seller is asking $250.
That would most likely be a good buy if at least 90%...in original condition.
