Scope base and rings for Marlin 57M

I just bought this rifle and it came with a junk scope that I am replacing.
The receiver has a .22 narrow base already drilled and mounted and the old set of rings are a perfect match for this no name base.
My new scope that is 40 MM objective with an adjustment ring requires higher rings as it just touches the barrel. I thought this would be easy but I'm not having good luck. I bought a set of Medium high rings for a .22 base but they don't fit the base I have on the gun. Must be there are some variations with these narrow .22 bases and the rings that fit them. Not knowing the brand of the base or rings I have now does leave me hanging to try to find the right rings to fit the base and I can't be sure if the receiver was drilled and tapped specifically for this base.
Where do I go from here?

www.kwiksitecorp.com has what you need [;)]
Considering they don't list the Marlin 57M rifle I can't see that they have what I need.

Those are almost identical to what I bought in the medium height but they don't fit flat on the base that is on my gun.
Here are the new rings that are the right height but do not fit the base.
Here is a down pic of the base with the rings that don't sit flat.
Thank you for helping me figure this out.

I don't think that you are going to find rings to fit that base..
My gut says that replacing that stamped steel 3/8" rail may be the solution. If the Marlin is flat on top, simply find some Weaver style bases that are the same thickness & match the hole spacing. Then any Weaver style ring will work.

That's about where I think this is heading. The 57M does have a flat top but I suspect the receiver was drilled and tapped for this particular stamped base and I might have to find a Weaver flat base and drill it to match the holes in my receiver.

Brownells has a base for this type rifle. however, it will need to be drilled and tapped.any good / steel rings for the 3/8 base will work fine.
That's what worries me 260. My receiver is drilled and tapped for the stamped base that came on it. I hate the thought of having a gunsmith drill and tap another hole and I can't find the hole spacing of any of the other bases that are available such as Weaver #58/48058 or any others.
