As I recall, the Model 11 was the original Dan Wesson Companies first model, manufactured in Monson, Mass.. The 11 was a fixed sight, the 12 was an adjustable sight, both were forerunners of the much more common Model 14 and Model 15's. I think manufacture dates are in the early 1970's.

They would have had interchangeable barrels where the barrel shroud had an integral lug that fit against the frame, making it look like it's nickname of "Porkchop" barrel. They were held on with an external nut. The later 14 &15's had a different shaped shroud and used a flush nut on the end of the barrel to maintain tension.

Reports I've received from acquantances who owned these models were good, I always thought they were a little goofy looking with the exposed nut on the barrel but fit and finish was good and accuracy was very good.

At one time most silhouette shooters preferred the Dan Wesson guns for their accuracy; the shroud tensions the barrel while the BC gap is adjustable and can be tuned easily.

I've had 5 Model 15 Dan Wessons and they were all extremely accurate guns, a trigger pull that takes a little getting used to since it feels different than most DA/SA revolvers but very, very accurate.
