Russian imports?

I have been trying to find a 7.62X54R Russian Vepr with the wood thumbhole stock, 20" barrel and slant back receiver. These were plentiful(and affordable) a few years ago and it seems none are currently being imported. Does anyone know why? The other Russian guns are still coming in (Saiga, Baikal ect....)I'm guessing the current administration has blocked these(Vepr)somehow, but just wanted to see if anyone had any other insight/info.

Non=sporting firearms are prohibited from importation under USC section 922(l) & 925(d)(3). ATF regulations give them the authority to interpret that law, &, as you have seen, they have refused to allow the importation of "semi automatic assault weapons". They have even extended that to cover the importation of certain parts, such as barrels & receivers, to discourage the assembly of hybrids by US importers/manufacturers.

Current administration? No. We haven't had a President who totally supports the Constitution in > 30 years. At least you can buy all the Mosin- Nagants that you want, & they are still cheap.

The used gun market prices reflect the demand for the type of milsurps that you, & many others, still want. And, most folks just want them for legal sporting purposes.

Centerfire Systems got a ton of Veprs in 2 or 3 months ago.
They sold through them fast. They had both finished & unfinished wood thumbhole stocks with the assumption customer would change the stocks out immediately. They had both slanted and square receivers. They also had a Super Vepr AKA Vepr Hunter.

With a squared receiver you can use any com-bloc stock. Not sure why you would want a slant receiver?

One more word, I swear Centerfire Systems was selling these guns for around $650. Now you're paying more for the fact they sold out quickly.
