KSI Norinco Information

I have a KSI imported Norinco SKS with the serial number in the 500's, no chinese markings and the bolt looks Russian (dark). All numbers match and am wondering if anyone had any information on this gun.

Most importantly is when did KSI (K-Sports) start importing SKS's at Pomona California?

Thanks!

    nitrouz;
    The rifle you discribe may be a very early import.
    SKS's were imported in the late 1950's and VERY early 60's.
    They were VERY expensive in those days, largely because,
    Warsaw pact weapons were SCARCE in this country, for obvious reasons. K-sport, if memory serves, was one of a few importers at that time. Imports of these and other such firearms were stopped in, again if memory serves, about 1963, and did'nt resume until the late 1970's or early 80's. K-sport's import address, if it is the same Co., at that time (1958) was Pomona, Ca.
