I just bought a new Uberti SAA 45 Colt and took it to the range. When I cock it the cylinder sometimes goes past the locking bolt and the firing pin hits off-center and does not fire. What could be the problem? Jim

Well I would email them, tell them the problem, and get a new one or yours fixed free. Obviously, its a manufacturer issue.

If you have a Uberti imported by someone else like Taylors, call them first. My Uberti Open Top had a gouged cylinder new and I had to get a new one.

It sounds like either the hand is too long or it has a bad bolt spring.

Is this happening only on the first shot fired from the cylinder, or all six shots? My Uberti will sometimes not line up on the first shot after loading the cylinder, but all subsequent shots are no problem.

I bet the problem is the bolt spring.
    Sounds like some warranty work.

The timing is off and it needs the services of someone skilled in working on the SAA type revolvers. If it is new send it back and have the factory fix it or get a new one.
