I need an extra barrel onto which to place an electronic sight. Where do I get one? New preferred. I have checked out the auction and everyone wants $275 used. It just cannot be. Thanks, reindeer

Hello Brownell's sells after-market and factory model 41 barrels with either scope base made into barrel or factory drilled and tapped. Clark "s guns make some very good match model 41 barrels made to mount red dots . ALSO you might want to try Champions choice WWW.champchoice.com or champions shooters supply The last 3 all set up shop at Camp Perry during the NRA matches and all carry what you are looking for . Cheers Karl aka Perry Shooter.

The least expensive I know of comes from Gil Hebard who sells the S&W optics only barrel for a bit less than S&W. The clarks barrels with weaver sight are much more, $295, I believe.

Sorry, I meant weaver rail. It is a very nice unit, however, and weighs a bit less than the 5.5 heavy barrel from Smith.

Unless you can fit the barrel yourself I'd recommend the program at S&W. Takes only a few days. If you buy over the NET for $125-150 you will still spend $50-100 to have it properly fit. If you can fit this yourself you have to bid for them.

(better yet, what do you want for the lower?) Just kidding.

I've tried both, best deal was S&W.

Thanks guys. I did some research on my own and found original factory barrel at under $200 without sights. This was good but I found Clark's and, after all, Clarks is Clarks. They take an original barrel and carve the begeezes out of it to create the scope rail out of the original meat of the barrel. I had to go for it and am on backorder til July. Again, you are all the greatest. reindeer
