Remington 700 "New" Trigger

I just bought a 22 - 250 Remington 700 VSSF II, which is Remington's way of basically saying "heavy target rifle". I have quite a few 700s (and a few 721s) and all have had the standard 3 way adjustable trigger - sear adjust from back, over travel from lower front & weight at upper front. Regardless of how "lawyerly" the factory setting I've always been able to safely adjust down to very light with virtually no overtravel. So when I bought this rifle and saw the "New X Trigger" label I should have known there would be a problem - and there is.
So far as I can tell, the only adjustment that can be made is weight of pull. The sear engagement and overtravel, although the same old allen screws are used in the same spots, can not be adjusted at all. In short, no more adjustable 700 triggers. At least this is the result of my attempts to adjust.
It would appear that if the allen set screws could be removed the trigger would be fully adjustable, but the only way it seems to me is drilling. Unless Remington used black loctite in which case heat would work.
Does anyone have experience with the trigger, as in figuring out a way to make it adjustable? As an aside, the sear engagement is much, much cleaner and smoother than the old 700 trigger, which means if able to be fully adjustable this would be one heck of a good trigger.

Jewell will make the 700 a rifle to own.
True, but I have to say I'm pretty PO'd that I have to spend a few hundred $$$ more to get a good pull. And, I realize Remington doesn't want to get sued but taking away the ability to adjust the pull just makes me really want to look at another company's guns. Wasn't the 3 dabs of sealant over the adjusting screws enough?
