A friend has a blackpowder shotgun with the name "colcher" stamped into the metal on the side of the stock by the trigger or the hammer. It is a single barrel, but smaller than a 20 guage. we would like to know more about the gun and some possible values. Thanks

The name on the side lock is more likely GOLCHER, a family who made locks used by many different gunmakers, and name of the gun's actual maker if marked is usually on top of barrel. Clear photos would be needed for any further identification.
