Win 06 and Rossi need help!

I have a Winchester parts rifle. It is made up from a Model 06 action with a model 90 stock that someone has installed a 22Win mag barrel to. It looks like a Numrich barrel. I also have a Rossi 22lr pump that has the same problem as the 06. They will not extract the empty. Both the 22 Mag and the Rossi 22lr pull the brass about 1/4 inch out of the chamber then I have to use pliers to remove the brass. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is wrong with either rifle?

The chamber on a 22 mag is larger then on a 22LR the rim is also larger so the extractor and ejector also need to be changed or CORRECTLY modified to get a magnum case to eject after it is fired and the action is pumped.

Thanks for the help. Still the Rossi was and is a 22lr when bought new back in the 70's. It never worked right back then has been stored for all these years and I would like to get it working. Would a weak extractor spring or extractor cut in the barrel also be at fault?

"Would a weak extractor spring or extractor cut in the barrel also be at fault?"... yes that is possible, I've had to 'freshen' extractors & springs on new rifles before. the .22 mag. may have other problems as well as the rifle wasn't designed for those kind of pressures. first, I'd suggest trying some .22 wrf ammo (the rifle was desiged for this, much less pressure)
