Rem 700 .308 Long/Short Action

I purchased a used Remington 700 chambered for a .308. I realize that this is available in either a long action or short action, but I do not know what mine is. Is there anyway I could find out?

.308 should be a short action.

The M24 is a long action .308. Is this specially made?
