    Greg:

Do you have a Ruger factory letter authenticating the #1 as factory engraved? Do the last 5 digits, or all 8 digits add up to 21?

A factory letter would be mandatory for authentication. Ruger records 603-863-3300, have your s/n ready, they can tell you over the phone.

Thanks for the info,I looked and all 8 serial numbers do add up to 21, the reason I think its factory engraved I got on the Ruger website and got into the engraved part of it and it showed the exact same engraving on one of tthe guns on there, what does the 21 mean when you add up the serial numbers? And thank you much for your info. Greg

    Greg:

The numbers adding up to 21 "COULD" ID it as A "21 club" rifle. Presented to various writers and friends of the factory. The first rifles were in the 2 and 3 digit range. Later there were some in the 130 prefix range.

THIS INFO IS FROM THE "Red Eagle News Exchange" A publication of all things Ruger.

I would start with a letter from Ruger. IF it turns out as factory engraved and a "21 club" rifle I would think it quite valuable.

I'm not qualified to put a price on it.

Called Ruger and talked to a lady who said she'e only worked there a couple of months. She said the gun was made aug.1975 put did'nt see a special engraving order for it put said some people had them engraved after there puchase? I had a gunsmith look at it and he said it was surely factory engraving. I'am sending some picture's to Ruger Custom shop to get a answer. She also said they might not have the engraving order could have been lost? Greg
