I have quite a few vintage rifle cleaning rods. Is there any book or source of information out there to help identify makers and age? I would think there has got to be someone out there that collects these and has put information together. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

About all I can think of is to search thru old catalogs like Sears & Roebuck, Abercrombie & Fitch, etc. Also, period firearms manufacturers catalogs like Winchester.

Some of the more common firearms accessory makers like Marbles, Lyman, Belding & Mull, also offered cleaning rods.

Complete vintage cleaning kits are one of my best sellers at the antique sales. Just the rods have little value. Find or make up a set/kit and you have a money maker.
Post some pics here, maybe I can help.
