Browning 78 Scope Base

I have a Browning 78 high wall, round barrel, in 30-06 and would appreciate any info on a scope base for this rifle. It currently has a Conetrol base and rings, but I would like to raise the scope a little for better access to the hammer. The Conetrol mounts already have the highest ring on the front mount. The Leupold base #50012 is only for octagonal barrels.
Anyone with an original Browning base???
Thanks.

You might consider giving the customer service folks at Brownell's a call. They have a very extensive selection of mounts and rings.

If it is only a matter of access to the hammer. A number of companies, sell off-set hammer extensions. They are attached to the hammer with small hex set screws.

Thanks....I'll give Brownells a call after the holidays.
The hammer is very low into the receiver on this model when cocked. There is no room for a hammer side extension.
