was looking at one at a small local show today. I was 28ga and looked to be in very good shape, with 4 choke tubes and the box. I was just looking on the auction side and there is only one listed in 20 ga and they want over $1000. for it. The one I was looking at, he was only asking $450. for. should I go back tommorrow and buy it at that price or was the auction price to high?? I have a double barrell 28ga but have allways wanted an over and under.

I just wanted to give my .02 cents. I purchased a Stoeger Condor
Deluxe in 20 ga this past summer from GunBroker. It was around $450
and is considered on the low end of over/unders. I bought it because
it has auto-ejectors instead of extractors, quicker for reloading
during hunting. I also bought a while ago a CZ 12ga. over under with
extractors for trap shooting....so i don't have to pick up shells on
the ground, i believe i paid $600 for it.

If it has auto-ejectors I would go for it. Extractors will be a real annoyance for hunting trying to pull out empties while hunting,
I would not favor extractors except for trap shooting.

Make sure it locks up tight and it comes with a choke wrench. My Stoeger also came with an auto safety....they are a real pain, so I removed the link inside so it wouldn't do it automatically but
retains the safety manually. Also check the gun for an auto-safety
and a single trigger and a switch to fire either top or bottom
    barrel first.

    Good luck, Thor

I think they were $750 new a few years ago. $450 seems reasonable in like new, might be a little high for used.

prices I saw were higher over the last few years, but this does make a lot more sense, as the dealer I was talking to is known to price on the high side, though he does usually have quality products. I just couldn't see him pricing something about half. I think I will give him another show then make an offer if he still has it. I was seriously thinking of getting one of the mossburg silver reserves, I just want it to rabbitt hunt with, I did like the feel of the savage though.
