colt trooper value please.

My uncle has a colt trooper mk lll in 357 with a 4in bbl he bought new in 1970 in like new condition , only been shot 7 times , no box. he is wanting to give it to me but I know he is in dire strights. want to give him true value of said gun. my blue book is to old for current figures can someone please tell me what blue book says? thank you in advance

    They are going for big bucks on the auction. Actual selling prices that I found, were $575 for a used 6". And $795 for a minty 4", like your Uncles.

    I looked on the auction side and was seeing some of the prices. was just wanting to make sure not to short my uncle, he needs a hand and I want to do him right. I have let my blue book become old!( I have no idea how that happened!!!! )

    The actual selling prices on the auction, would be more accurate than the Blue Book. The only negative I can see, is that there were only 2 that were sold. To get a accurate idea of current fair market value, there should be more Troopers on the sold database.

    Bully for you wanting to help out your uncle. If you have the $ to spare write him a check for the top end. Out of curiosity 7 rounds seems odd for a six shooter, a 1911 OK.

    I picked up the gun today. really super nice condition. he said the only reason the gun was shot 7 times was that was all the shells he had for the gun at the time. bought another box later on and just never got it out to shoot agian. go figure! thanks guys for all your input.
