Remington Rolling Block M1879 Argentine

I have what I believe is a M1879 Argentine Remington Rolling block. There are no numbers or markings on the gun other than the 3 line Remington Stamping on the tang and a U stamped into one of the barrel bands no serial number. From what I've found this may be one of the over runs that was sold to the civillian market since it doe not have the argentine markings stamped into the octagonal knoxform and the Trigger guard and the barrel band are brass plated which I've never seen but maybe was customized by one of the previous owners. If anyone has anymore info on this and Value or where I can find it that would be great.

added I'm not sure that your rifle has been bubbaed. Some screw slots are damaged slightly but for 100+ years no one took a hacksaw or vice grips to it. Could be an overrun, maybe a salesman sample with shiny brass bands. I post "links" for everyone that is curious. If it were mine I'd be shooting it. RB's are strong for old metallurgy.
The correct bullet mold often turns up on fleabay. Brass http://www.midwayusa.com/find?sortby=1&itemsperpage=24&newcategorydimensionid=20061
They way it's been bubbaed, don't seeing it having much in the way of collectors value.
Hopefully if the chamber and bore are in good shape? A BP shooter would spring in the $300/$500 range for it.

Nice looking RB. How is the bore?

It's a clean looking RB. Value would be based on caliber and chambering. Do a chamber cast to figure what cartridge it's chambered for, and groove diameter?

The 43 Spanish is a bottleneck case while the Reformado is straight with a very slight taper. If you can look inside the chamber and see if it bottlenecks, I would bet 43 Spanish.
Many of these rollers were refinished at the arsenal before they were brought back & sold in the US. I have seen many with most of the stamping buffed off completely, with arsenal reblue. Many of these rifles had very good bores.
I am fortunate to still own one with the markings intact. I shoot mine regularly with black powder only.
