I cleaned out a garage for an older person and found a TIN of ammo(not a "regular" ammo can as I know them) I need to know if the ammo will fit a 30-06. The tin is unopened and stenceled on the side says; 192 CARTRIDGES CAL 30 BALL M2 8 RD CLIPS BANDOLEERS. I don't really want to open the tin

If you post a pic the country of origin may be identifiable
Don't open it. It could have more value as a collectable. Or it could be nothing more than shooting ammo. It's best to find out exactly what it is before deciding what to do with it.

The later cans have a 2 digit date after the lot number. Definitely would be non corrosive. If the date is in the 60's or 70's.
EDIT #1,
You might give some though to selling the can. On one of the latest auctions a lot of (2) cans sold for $450. It was noncorrosive, dated in the 70's though.
EDIT #2,
Dug up a on-line list stating everything above lot # 13,700, is non corrosive, for M-2 ammo, in 8 round clips.
Mark will know for sure.
