Since you are in Wyoming, I would contact the Cody museum. If they can't help you, they will certainly know which direction to point you in. Bert H., or Spider will probably have a contact person.

Garand Collectors Association is a good place to find someone that will know about your rilfe, I tryed to find a link for you, could not find one. A lot of GCA members hang out at the Civilian Marksmanship Fourm from time to time.
