I found this old pistol rest while rooting around in the old shop, memory fades but I think it was for a Lee rest. I don't need it anymore and for shipping costs it can have a new home..
The adaptor on it is for a S&W K frame I believe. I also have one for a 41 S&W some where.

Not sure, but it appears to be for mounting a S&W K frame in a 'ransom rest' for accuracy testing.
The 41, being an auto, should be a different grip mount but the rest should be the same.

    Thanks---Peabo

Hello This is the Top HALF of a LEE rest it is NOT a RANSOM rest. The bottom half will be made so the round crossbar will have something to rest on and the screw on the front is to adjust the vertical ZERO they work but only when used correctly by the operator . I think they sold for about $29.00 years ago the ransom rest was about $200.00 at that same time frame.

PEABO I did not intend to come off as disagreeing with your right to try to help this poster I was merely trying to tell him it was a part of a cheaper rest made by Lee and not a Ransom rest. Sorry if I unintentionally stepped on your toes. I meant no harm.

Well, gee, I'm sorry I was not correct !!!!
I did say I was not sure !!!

Perryshooter, I'm sorry, but I took your use of all caps in some of your words that you were yelling at me to emphasize how wrong I am.
It has been a few years that I have even seen a Ransom Rest so do not remember exactly what all the different mounts look like.

I was not even aware that Lee made such a rest.

Learn something new all the time on these forums.

    Thanks---Peabo

It's the top off of the complete rest, what you see, set on a metal base that was bolted to the bench. It had half moon cuts on 2 sides of it, and the front of this rested on a extension of that.
The one for the 41 looks like a magazine and is fastened to the part shown here... just like the S&W one is.... but the 41 uses that part as it's magazine..
It replaced the grips with what is seen, and it was shot just like you would normally shoot one off a rest. It worked pretty good for what it was....
    Any one need it !!!!

Do you still have this part available? I would be interested in talking about this if so. I have a lead on one of these rests.

    Thanks,
    Rob
