Rugers in CA

This is a question for those in CA, particularly dealers and distributors.

I purchased a Ruger KMK512 yesterday and was told by the dealer that Ruger may not be on the CA Approved list after they expire this year.

He mentioned something about an affadavit that Ruger needed to sign that the new guns are exactly like the guns originally approved with no modifications, part changes. etc.

Can anyone verify or deny this.

Thank you.

Checking the DOJ list it appears that the 5.5" 512 is approved for retail sale up until August, 2014 so on or before that date Ruger has to pay a fee to keep the pistol on the DOJ list.

If you already own it there is no problem except that you cannot sell it to a dealer in the PDRK after the certificate expires. You can still sell it to a private party. Handguns that are here legally but not on the list can be sold in private party sales.
