As stated in the description, this is not my rifle. I know little about it, and there seem to be very few for sale anywhere. I have found a sold one that went for less than the asking on this one, but it was not nearly as nice.

Anyone have any facts about this variation? Something I should have put in the description?

Thanks.

I am not a Mauser expert but it appears to be a Model 937 Short Rifle, which is basically a copy of the Kar 98k with a few changes. There were two variations of the 937 based on an adjustable front sight and the location of the sling swivels.

David, I answered your question in the general forum before I checked ATE. I have no idea what it is worth or how many made.
    Mr. Christian nailed it.

You don't have to add anything unless something is broken. You got the name right and have lots of photos. Collectors know what it is. Personally I think the starting price is too high, but to each his own.

You might want to ask the owner if he has a 98k bayo with a four digit number on the hilt next to the release button along with the standard Waffenamts. These rifles were sold with a bayonet and it adds a bit if it's a matching rig.

I thought the starting price was little high but the market will sort that out soon enough..

This is one of those "get the popcorn and see" auctions. I keep saying some rifles are too high then I watch something go for $500-$1k higher than I though it was going to. Then the one I thought should go higher got two bids and WAAAYYY undersold.

But, originals are going up in price no matter how much we wish they wouldn't.
