Value of Springfield Armory SAR 8?

I have a NIB, never fired Springfield Armory SAR 8 that I purchased here at auction a couple of years ago. I have been asked if I would like to trade it for another gun. I have no idea what this is worth. What would be a fair trading value or an asking price for this gun?

    Well I'm at work with no buying guides available, but I believe I remember seeing them at several shows (PA) anywhere from $1200-1800. But, hopefully I'll remember to look tonight/tomorrow because that's strictly going from memory.[:D]

    In the interim, goto gunbroker.com and search on the SAR 8 and see what others are asking. There are several other sites too, but I'm not sure it's politically correct to mention them here.

    I couldn't find it in the book for some reason, but my father said it's listed in one of his books for $1750 NIB - $500 poor.
