PICKED UP WHAT I WAS TOLD IS A ARGENTINE MAUSER IN 7.65X53
BUT I'M NOT SURE ????????
MANUFACTURE D'ARMES
DEL'ETAT
S.N. 50281
ALL NUMBERS MATCH. BUT BOLT HAS BEEN ALTERED NO NUMBERS.
ORIG. STOCK SPORTIZED BOLT ALTERED.
ANY HELP APPRICATED

    Your rifle is from Belgium not Argentina.
    " MANUFACTURE D'ARMES DE L'ETAT " is the marking on the orginial Belgian Mausers made in the national armory in Liege, among others.. The Belgians were the first European Country to adopt and manufacture the Mauser, dating from 1891.
    Both Belgium and Argentina did use the same military rifle cartridge, ( 7.65 x 53mm Mauser ).

    Graf & Sons of Mexico Mo, is selling NEW U S produced ammo at $20.00 a box. I'ld spring for a box, then test fire your rifle. If it doesn't chamber, take it to a COMPETENT gunsmith.
