diamondback value and date of birth

hi, i picked up a 4 inch diamondback and its like new, the owner said he bought it in the 70s and never fired it, it appears that the condition is like new, no bluing loss, no scratches on the wood, and barely a turn mark on the cylinder. There is no numbers under the grip. Only ones are by the yoke, its D87XXX and a K below that. I tried to find when it was made and unalbe to find a site. Can anyone give me an approximate value and the date of manufacture? thanks,dave
