Clip fed gun-not tube fed.

I've had the gun for several years and it never worked properly.

The bolt would not come back far enough to chamber a round from the magazine.

I got it most of the way apart with the help of the JB Wood assembly/disassembly book.

I got the bolt out and action bar out, even the cross pin and trigger and got the safety out. I can't get the little rod that goes into the back of the receiver out-even when pushing up on that spring loaded little tube (that the trigger pushes up on) and tapping with a plastic mallet. I also tried to grab it with a needle nose plier. I think that little tube thing may be in backward-preventing the bolt from going back far enough.

Am I correct? Any hints on how to remove that rod thing. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. You may post or contact me direct if you like.

Thanks (a bunch) in advance.
