model 700 trigger adjustments?

just wondering what some of you have got your trigger pull wieght down to SAFELY on your remington model 700's its a hunting rifle so it needs to be safe while carying it through the woods etc

if you understand the adjustment screws on the 700 you can usually get a nice safe 3 lb. pull on a hunting rifle.

Funny you should ask. I just adjusted my own last week down to about 2 1/2 pounds. It was very easy to do. After the adjustment I performed several safety checks. Slam the bolt closed hard about a dozen times. Put the safety on and pull the trigger and then release the safety and make sure it doesn't go boom. Bang the recoil pad on the ground firmly with the rifle cocked and make sure it doesn't go boom. ETC. If you need one I found a great site with step by step instructions to adjusting the trigger pull on a Rem 700.
