Is it easy to mount a scope on it,and can I do it myself.
If so which scope would be best?
Thanks

The same Weaver side mount base that's used for the Savage 340 will work. ATI makes a base too, both require a new bolt handle.
A scout scope mount is the easiest way to go, bolt handle stays the same.
I would keep it as is and use it as a loaner/truck gun.

Thanks for info.Maybe a scope will cost more than the gun is worth anyway.

If it shoots straight, it's worth keeping. Throw it behind the seat of the truck and have it when you need it.
