hello all!! have been looking for a remington speedmaster for a while -got outbid 5 different auctions--got one at the pawn world today has see thru scope mounts and a cheap scope--wood seems to be walnut checkered and shiny--also all in goood shape--is this a bdl or 552a--how do you tell the difference-it has the 25 inch barrell and first serial #s are 1903xxx-again thanks[:)][:)][:D][:D]

    I have a 552 that my dad bought me when I was 13 back in the early 70's (ser. 1666xxxxx), I think there was an ADL and a BDL, with the BDL having some special engraving in the wood. Mine is the plain-Jane (smooth stock and forearm) ADL(?). Someone correct me if I am wrong.
