Ruger PC-4 or PC-9?

Given that the AWB may make any future purchase of a semi auto more difficult if it has any of the "evil features", which of these two would you prefer? 9mm is cheaper ammo, and more available, but the .40 is the prefered cal now days, but is that also true for carbines? Which has advantages over the other, if any? Thanks in advance, I have not purchased yet, and won't anytime soon, but am looking for somethink like the 10/22, only less likely to misfire/jam.

    Do you have a 9mm or 40cal handgun? If you do get the matching caliber rifle. If you had to chose between the 9 or the 40, I would get the 9mm. Ammo is about 1/2 the cost of 40cal.
