Howdy,
I went to a gun show in San Antonio, Tx. this past weekend and picked up an 'as new' Rossi SxS double barreled derringer in nickel. It has rabbit ear hammers and exposed firing pins just like their coach gun. I cannot find this gun in any reference book. It's not in the Bluebook, Gunt Traders Guide, Shooters Bible or my Standard Catalogue. I've tried online, too, and even Rossi's website has nothing. If any of y'all have ANY info on this little gun like DOM's,
years and how many made, etc., I sure would appreciate being enlightened. By the way, the importer from Brazil was Firearms International. I am guessing that that's pre-Interarms. Thank you.> Bob [?]

These came in back in the 1960's. They have a double trigger and as you mentioned double hammers. They don't appear in the Blue Book of Gun Values. They aren't extremely common, although I saw one just this last weekend. That dealer felt it was worth around $200 although he had nothing to base that on other than novelty and rarity. I've seen 3-5 in the last 15 years. Prices will range from under $100 to over $200. In most cases it depends on the dealer's interpretation of the gun's "Cool Factor". Since there is no listing on these in the books, it is really what the market will bear. The current Rossi company would have no knowledge of this gun, it wouldn't have come into the country in at least 35 years, since the 1968 Gun Control Act.

I bought one at an estate auction for $125 in vg - ex condition. While it was not particularly well made, it did function. (One of the barrels was bored off center, and as nearly as I could tell, the barrels were very poorly regulated, shooting about 7" apart at 25'.

Most fun was loading both barrels with birdshot and shooting both barrels at once, Tore the hell out of cans at 10', if you could hit them.

Got tired of it after a while and started dragging it around with me to gun shows. If I recall correctly, I got more out of it than I paid for it.
